Jake Rogers: 'Heart's beating' ahead of Detroit Tigers debut

ANAHEIM, Calif. – Jake Rogers walked into the visiting clubhouse at Angel Stadium of Anaheim at 3:50 p.m. local time on Tuesday afternoon, his work day already underway, this one unlike any of the hundreds over the past four years.

A day earlier, semi-aware of a report circulating that his major league promotion could be imminent, Rogers was pulled aside by Triple-A Toledo manager Doug Mientkiewicz before the Mud Hens’ game against Louisville and into a tunnel, where Mientkiewicz casually asked, “Are you ready to be a big leaguer?
