Matt Shepard, reportedly the new voice of the Detroit Tigers on Fox Sports Detroit, received a text message from a number he didn’t recognize.
"Your wife and son have been in a terrible car accident,” the text read. “Call me as soon as you can.”
It was Jan. 4, and Shepard was about a half mile away, running errands. "She was frantic on the other end," Shepard said.
He approached the scene at Squirrel and Auburn roads in Auburn Hills. Shepard's wife, Lisa, and son, Scott, were injured when a man allegedly ran a red light and hit their vehicle head on.
