Daniel Norris wasn't at fault.
When the Detroit Tigers left-hander walked off the mound early in Tuesday night’s loss to the Angels, he noticed manager Ron Gardenhire’s look — with puffy lips and hives all over his face — and asked a question.
“I said, ‘Did I give you the hives watching me pitch?’ ” Norris said.
Gardenhire said no, but a couple innings later, he reversed course.
“He said, ‘Yeah, probably, you did,’ ” Norris said.
Gardenhire left the game with an allergic reaction, he said on Wednesday.
The cause of the reaction is unknown, but Gardenhire said it wasn’t because of Norris’ pitching.
