Hao-Yu Lee’s home run helps power Hens to eighth straight victory

Right-hander Wilkel Hernandez was strong again on Wednesday as he led the pitching staff to another great game against a tough Triple-A offense. Manager Gabe Alvarez has quickly righted the ship and after a rough start, the Hens have won eight straight to claw their way back to a 13-16 start.

Hernandez wasn’t punching many batters out, but he shut the Red Sox out over five innings. The recently turned 26-year-old right-hander has been in the system since the Tigers acquired him from the Angels for Ian Kinsler way back in the 2017-2018 offseason. He continues to sit around 94-96 mph with fourseam and sinker, mixing his mid-80’s slider and curveball in effectively.
