Lael Lockhart Jr. had a bit of rough outing and the offense was quiet in Columbus. The Clippers took advantage of a Hao-Yu Lee error to drop two on Lockhart in the first and then Jake Anchia led off the second inning with a solo shot. Lockhart settled down, but he allowed one more run in the fifth before departing the game.
The Hens got a run in the second when Jahmai Jones led off with a walk and moved to third on an Akil Baddoo single. A Ryan Kreidler ground out scored Jones, but though Brian Serven and Andrew Navigato walked to load the bases, Gage Workman struck out to strand them.
