A lot of great things can be said about Dillon Dingler since he stepped into the role of primary catcher after Jake Rogers was injured. But perhaps the thing we are not talking about enough is: he has one of the best walk-up songs of all time. Rocking out to Stevie Nicks’ “Edge of Seventeen” from her iconic album Bella Donna. There’s just something incredibly catch and unmsitakable about those opening chords. How Dingler came to find the song isn’t clear, but man, I love hearing it every time he comes to the plate.
Not since, perhaps, Ian Kinsler walked up to “Superstition” by Stevie Wonder (a song selection that was genius on multiple levels, because of the superstition of having a walk-up song, and because Wonder was born in Michigan) has a Tiger picked such a distinctive earworm.
