I think we’ve all had moments while watching baseball where we’ve thought, “you know that should become a new rule,” or “that rule is very stupid and we should do away with it forever.” Baseball fandom is full of strong opinions and big ideas, so naturally, we all scoff or feel suspicious of major rule changes. Sometimes they work (who would have believed the pitch clock would go over so well), some have fizzled out (the All-Star Game deciding home field advantage for the World Series), but baseball is an ever-changing game.
So, today, let’s look at some things we might tweak if we were in power.
