FanPost Friday: Build your dream All-Star team

This week, MLB announced the All-Star position player starters, the first time they were trying out a new voting system. For the first time, instead of the players being selected by purely a popular vote, there was a round of open voting where all players were eligible to collect votes, and then a SECOND round where the top three vote-getters in each position category were voted on a second time to get the most popular overall player.

The other great addition this year was a tie-in with Google, which allowed fans to vote for players merely by searching their name and clicking a button, rather than filling out a cumbersome online form confirming different codes, etc.
