Welcomed back by a bunch of television cameras and a well-represented Japanese media contingent, Detroit’s favorite scapegoat returned to Comerica Park on Tuesday afternoon with still a full head of hair, a couple of witty cracks and no regrets.
In fact, Brad Ausmus said, you can keep directing your frustrations over the Detroit Tigers’ unrealized dreams of yesteryear his way.
“You can just keep blaming me,” he said with a smile. “Makes it easier.”
Ausmus, the former Tigers’ player and manager — he led the team for four seasons, from 2014-17 — is making his first return trip to Comerica Park as Angels manager.
