Drew Ward’s grand slam lifts Erie

Ricardo Pinto threw a good game, but the offense couldn’t come up with the big hits with runners in scoring position. Pinto went six, allowing two runs on five hits and three walks, with five punchouts. The Hens got on the board first as Juan Centeno singled home JaCoby Jones in the second inning. Pinto allowed a two run shot in the third, but the Hens tied it up in the seventh on an Aderlin Rodriguez single that scored Niko Goodrum. Unfortunately, despite 11 hits on the night—all singles—the Hens managed no more offense. Will Vest allowed the game winning run in the eighth to take the loss.
