Daniel Norris is going to start somewhere in five days.
The only question is where.
After Norris fell short of the Detroit Tigers’ hoped-for 75-pitch mark in his first injury-rehabilitation start for Triple-A Toledo on Monday night, manager Brad Ausmus isn’t yet sure.
“We gotta talk,” Ausmus said after the Tigers’ 1-0 win over the Minnesota Twins.
Norris threw 67 pitches over four innings against the Pawtucket Red Sox. He suffered a Grade 1 right oblique strain July 4.
Norris was solid, allowing one run on five hits. He struck out four batters.
