Detroit Tigers won't tender contract to right-hander Bruce Rondon

After posting career-worst ERA and WHIP in 2017, the Tigers seem ready to move on from once-promising reliever

Bruce Rondon’s days in Detroit appear to be over.

The Detroit Tigers did not tender Rondon a contract by Friday's 8 p.m. non-tender deadline, according to multiple people with knowledge of the situation, making the right-handed reliever a free agent.

The team is expected to tender their five other arbitration-eligible players: Rightfielder/ third baseman Nick Castellanos, righty relievers Shane Greene and Alex Wilson, shortstop Jose Iglesias and catcher James McCann.
