Detroit Tigers' TV and radio calls of historic no-hitter vs. Toronto Blue Jays

The Detroit Tigers threw the ninth no-hitter in franchise history Saturday in 2-0 win over Toronto at Comerica Park and first-ever with multiple pitchers.

Yet neither of the team's regular play-by-play men were on the call.

The Tigers held a "Players Only" telecast on Bally Sports Detroit featuring Craig Monroe, Todd Jones and Dan Petry. Matt Shepard, the regular play-by-play announcer, was off.

And longtime radio voice Dan Dickerson was off, with Greg Gania filling in. Gania is a broadcaster and assistant general manager for the Tigers' Double A affiliate Erie SeaWolves in Erie, Pennsylvania.
