Detroit Tigers trade outfielder Bligh Madris to Houston Astros for cash considerations

Bligh Madris never played a game for the Detroit Tigers.

On Tuesday, the Tigers traded Madris to the Houston Astros in exchange for cash considerations. The 26-year-old outfielder played 39 games for the Pittsburgh Pirates last season, the only MLB action in his career.

The Tigers' 40-man roster remains full.

The Tigers claimed Madris off waivers from the Tampa Bay Rays on Nov. 18. He was designated for assignment Dec. 21 when the Tigers claimed catcher Mario Feliciano off waivers from the Milwaukee Brewers.
