LAKELAND, Fla. — The Detroit Tigers’ final spring training workout ended in the rain on Thursday morning, tears of joy from Mother Nature, who couldn’t stand to watch any more pitchers fielding practice.
Surely, the sentiment in the Tigers clubhouse was much the same: They had a golf scramble to play in later in the day.
With their exhibition schedule beginning against Southeastern University on Friday, the Tigers had another light day, though right-handers Michael Fulmer and Jordan Zimmermann both threw live batting practice sessions.
