Detroit Tigers' Spencer Torkelson learns from Hall of Famer Alan Trammell

Detroit Tigers legend Alan Trammell spent lots of time on the left side of the infield throughout his 20-year career — 2,139 games at shortstop and 43 more at third base, to be exact.

The Hall of Famer now serves as the special assistant to the general manager and was at the forefront of selecting 2020 No. 1 overall pick Spencer Torkelson, alongside director of amateur scouting Scott Pleis.

On Wednesday, Trammell took the field for summer camp at Comerica Park to teach Torkelson about the hot corner. Once the ex-college slugger finished batting practice, he moved to third base for fielding drills.
