Detroit Tigers scrimmage observations: Jordan Zimmermann wobbles; Niko Goodrum has blast

Here are five observations from the Detroit Tigers’ intrasquad game on Sunday afternoon at Comerica Park:

1. Starting off

In his first appearance in the summer camp scrimmages, right-hander Jordan Zimmermann started off slow, allowing two runs on four hits and a walk in the top of the first inning. Though Zimmermann blew past his pitch limit, he settled down in the second inning and pitched a scoreless third. Zimmermann allowed two runs on five hits in three innings.
