The Detroit Tigers rumors mill has the team on the verge of signing former Texas Rangers’ closer Neftali Feliz, according to Pedro Martinez who made the claim on MLB Network Friday Night.
Feliz would not cost the Tigers anything through trade because he is an unrestricted free agent after opting out of his contract with the Rangers when he went unclaimed on waivers last week.
The righthander actually returned to the closer’s role last year when former Rangers’ closer Joakim Soria was traded to the Tigers last August to join the other former Rangers’ closer Joe Nathan.
