The Detroit Tigers have recalled infielders Zack Short and Kody Clemens from Triple-A Toledo and named right-hander Garrett Hill as the 27th man for Thursday's doubleheader against the Oakland Athletics.
Additionally, the Tigers have placed right-hander Will Vest on the paternity list, right-hander Beau Brieske on the 15-day injury list with right forearm soreness and reinstated right-hander José Cisnero from the bereavement list.
Detroit last week optioned first baseman Spencer Torkelson to Toledo.
At shortstop, Short has a career batting average of .141 with 22 hits, 20 RBIs and six home runs, all of which came in the 2021 season with the Tigers.
