KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Detroit Tigers saw their four-game streak snapped after Justin Wilson gave up a pair of runs in the bottom of the ninth.
Royals designated hitter Brandon Moss, who hit a home run off Justin Verlander in the third inning, hit a game-tying RBI triple with one out in the bottom of ninth.
Moss scored on a sac fly to center by Alex Gordon, as the Tigers lost, 4-3, on Wednesday night at Kauffman Stadium.
A win would have brought the Tigers (43-50) within four games of the American League Central lead.
