Detroit Tigers rally comes up short in 7-5 loss to Texas Rangers

What happened: The Detroit Tigers (38-51) lost to the Texas Rangers, 7-5, on Thursday night. Joey Gallo's two-run home run in the second inning cleared the bleachers in right and was estimated at 453 feet. It was Gallo's 21st home run for the Rangers.

The Rangers added two more runs in the third to take a 4-0 lead. A fielding error by Ronny Rodriguez at third led allowed the second run of the inning to score.

The game didn't start until 7:25 due to a rain delay. The game was delayed another 29 minutes due to rain after the Rangers scored to take a 5-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning.
