The Detroit Tigers placed right-handed reliever Buck Farmer on the 10-day injured list with a left groin strain, the team announced Monday.
Taking his place on the roster is right-hander Beau Burrows, who initially made the big-league club out of summer camp.
Losing Farmer to the injured list leaves the Tigers without a setup man for closer Joe Jimenez, but the role could shift to Gregory Soto, who has tossed 7u2154 innings with a magnificent 0.261 WHIP and no runs allowed.
