Baseball betting is coming to Comerica Park.
The Detroit Tigers have entered a multi-year partnership with PointsBet, a sports betting operator, beginning this season, the club announced Thursday morning.
The agreement, the first for a Major League Baseball team, will begin for the 2020 season.
In 2019, Michigan legalized sports betting. The city’s first sports book, at MGM Grand, opened earlier this year but has been shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic.
PointsBet is MLB’s authorized gaming provider. Their product includes a mobile application and as part of the deal, the company will have visible branding at Comerica Park, on the team’s radio network and across their digital platforms.
