Detroit Tigers observations: Miguel Cabrera HRs again, prospects rake

Specifically, first baseman Miguel Cabrera. Cabrera hit his fifth home run of spring training in the Tigers’ 18-6 blowout win over the Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday afternoon, a deep drive to dead center field.

It was Cabrera’s third home run in four days.

His Tigers teammates followed suit with 18 runs on 17 hits, including home runs by Mikie Mahtook — out of the park to left field — and Daz Cameron, a line-drive grand slam onto the left field berm.

Their prospects exploded in the sixth inning, scoring eight runs.

Starting was Daniel Norris, who allowed five runs on six hits in four innings.
