Detroit Tigers observations: Matt Moore solid, Willi Castro homers

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. — For two innings, Matt Moore was rolling.

Then, in the bottom of the third inning in the Grapefruit League game against the Atlanta Braves, the veteran left-hander showed signs of fatigue.

Not surprising, given the late February date, but as spring training rolls on, the Tigers will be looking at how long Moore can last in games. There are some who feel his best place on a team is in long relief.

Overall, Moore was solid in his second spring start, allowing two runs on three hits in 2u2153 innings. More importantly, he struck out three batters and walked none.
