Despite so much uncertainty surrounding this year’s Major League Baseball draft, this we know for sure: When the Detroit Tigers make their No. 1 overall selection in either June or July to begin a significantly-shortened draft of either five or 10 rounds, it is going to be one of two players.

One is the kind of pure slugger the Tigers have been chasing for quite some time. The other is a more dynamic player, perhaps a future All-Star in center field or even at shortstop, who could offer more potential.
