The Detroit Tigers will be without their top shortstop for at least the next 10 days.
Niko Goodrum was placed on the injured list on Saturday with a tendon sprain in his left index finger, with Isaac Paredes recalled from Triple-A Toledo to take his roster spot.
Goodrum was injured on Friday against the Los Angeles Angels while trying to make a diving stop on a Phil Gosselin single. The finger in his glove hand bent as it hit the outfield grass.
Manager AJ Hinch said the injury will not require surgery.
