The Detroit Tigers finished the first half at 28-57, last in the American League Central Division, second-to-last in the AL, and it wasn’t pretty.

On paper, the Tigers were destined to struggle this season. But a parade of injuries – beginning with Michael Fulmer’s season-ending elbow ligament reconstruction surgery in spring training – overall regression and plenty of inexperience have plummeted the team to the lowest point in their rebuilding process.
