Detroit Tigers' JaCoby Jones returns to leadoff spot in lineup after injury rehab

JaCoby Jones is back atop the Detroit Tigers’ lineup.

After missing 11 games with a back injury and playing four games with Triple-A Toledo, the Tigers’ most exciting offensive player was activated from the 10-day injured list prior to Friday night’s series opener against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Jones, 27, is hitting .244 with nine home runs, 23 RBIs and six stolen bases in 69 games this season. His OPS of .758 is by far the highest mark of his four-year career.

Jones played four games on his injury rehab assignment with the Mud Hens, going 7-for-16.
