SAN DIEGO – Detroit Tigers relievers Shane Greene and Alex Wilson combined to give up five runs on four hits and three walks in the eighth inning Saturday night.
The Tigers went into the inning with a one-run lead and went on to lose, 7-3, to the San Diego Padres at Petco Park. The loss extended the Tigers’ losing streak to a season-high eight games.
“Started giving up baserunners and the home run hurt and couldn’t stop the bleeding,” Tigers manager Brad Ausmus said.
