Detroit Tigers' Francisco Liriano allergic reaction a mystery

Detroit Tigers pitcher Francisco Liriano rejoined the team Saturday after an allergic reaction Friday sent him to the hospital for testing.

Liriano, who was scratched from his start on Saturday against the Cleveland Indians at Comerica Park, was available out of the bullpen, but was not used in the 2-1 win. Left-hander Blaine Hardy picked up the spot start in place of Liriano.

It's still unknown what caused Liriano's allergic reaction — which led to an outbreak of rashes on his body — but he told Fox Sports Detroit's Matt Shepard before Saturday's game he was feeling "better" and planned to have additional tests Monday.
