Brinley Jungnitsch — the sweetest 9-year-old you could ever meet — sat in a chair, looking intimidated.
Seven members of the Detroit Tigers stood in front of her during a winter caravan stop at St. Clair Shores Lake Shore High School on Thursday.
“Come on, Brinley, don’t be shy,” said Donna Bernardo, who was from the Tigers' community affairs office. “They are here.”

Brinley might have been slow to warm up, but she’s tough and determined. She has battled leukemia three times.
