At Progressive Field.
The Detroit Tigers lost to the Cleveland Indians, 4-1, on Saturday night at Progressive Field.
In his first start since returning from the 10-day disabled list, left-hander Francisco Liriano was doomed in the first inning. He allowed three runs on four hits and two walks in the frame, but recovered nicely, allowing one hit the rest of the way. Liriano threw four innings.
The Tigers were no match for Indians’ righty Trevor Bauer, who struck out 10-plus batters for the eighth time this season. Once again, the Tigers didn’t do much offensively. They have lost four straight, and are 36-41.
