PITTSBURGH — Manager Ron Gardenhire said right-hander Drew VerHagen was “misfiring” too much to remain part of the Detroit Tigers' bullpen.
“Hopefully he’ll clear and will get back in our system,” Gardenhire told reporters Tuesday afternoon at PNC Park, before the start of a three-games series with the Pittsburgh Pirates.
“If not, it’s not a bad situation.
