The Detroit Tigers will not etch their name in baseball’s record book this year.

With Sunday afternoon’s 5-3 win over the White Sox at Comerica Park, the Tigers won their 22nd game of the regular season at home, eliminating the possibility they could become the first team in baseball history to lose 60 games at home.

Backed by consistent offense and a power show, left-hander Matthew Boyd won, navigating through plenty of traffic in five solid innings. The Tigers hit four home runs in the win.
