Detroit Tigers' Austin Romine 'gonna be OK' after exiting Friday's game with wrist injury

Detroit Tigers catcher Austin Romine departed from Friday's 1-0 loss against the Cleveland Indians with a wrist injury.

Manager Ron Gardenhire said the X-rays of Romine's left wrist came back negative. He is only dealing with a bruise and won't need to go to the injured list.

"He's gonna be OK," Gardenhire said Friday. "His hand went numb and his thumb locked up on him. After he got into the clubhouse, it loosened up."

With the bases loaded in the top of the ninth inning, left-handed reliever Gregory Soto tossed a 97.
