MILWAUKEE — Detroit Tigers general manager Al Avila said he has no knowledge of Dan Gilbert’s interest in buying the team.
Asked if he had any knowledge that Gilbert was in talks of buying the team, Avila said before Saturday night’s game against the Brewers, “No, to my knowledge nothing like that is going on. I can tell you that Chris Ilitch, since the day I’ve been here, has told me that he’s committed to being the owner of this team 100 percent for the long-term.
