Leonys Martin is rejoining the Detroit Tigers.
The center fielder was activated from the 10-day disabled list on Friday, and in a corresponding move Mikie Mahtook was optioned back o Triple-A Toledo.
Martin, 30, was the Tigers’ best acquisition over the winter, and he was a catalyst at the top of the Tigers' order before battling a bad hamstring — first in May and then again earlier this month.
He played in three games with Toledo during a recent rehab stint, going 3-for-10 with two doubles and an RBI. He was hitting .294 with an on-base percentage of .
