Derek Hill launches a walkoff home run for Erie

The Mud Hens’ bullpen crumbled late in this one and eventually lost in 10 innings on Wednesday. With scheduled starter Tyler Alexander called up, the Hens improvised with two innings of Matt Hall, and then five from Spenser Watkins. Hall did well, but Watkins struggled a little bit, allowing three runs. Still, the Hens’ offense had them up 4-3 through seven innings. Trevor Rosenthal picked up three punchouts in his second outing, but allowed a solo shot to blow the save. In the 10th, John Schreiber allowed a pair of runs, and while Dawel Lugo scored on a groundout in the bottom of the frame, the comeback ended there.
