The Hens got out an early lead and their pitching did the rest. Dawel Lugo doubled home Jeimer Candelario and scored on a Jim Adduci single in the first inning. Edwin Espinal added a solo shot in the fourth. On the mound, Drew VerHagen was cruising. The Hens’ starter struck out eight, allowing just a run on two hits over six innings. Paul Voelker and Johnny Barbato closed it out.
