LAKELAND, Fla. -- The way Daniel Norris sees it, he has two choices: Trust the sometimes unconventional methods of new Detroit Tigers pitching coach Chris Bosio or waste time worrying.
He's choosing to trust the new boss' plan, even if he's not always quite sure what it is.
The Tigers young left-hander went to Port St. Lucie on Monday expecting to throw three innings. Right before the game, Bosio told him that plans had changed and he would only pitch the final inning.
Bosio's message, according to Norris, was this: "I just want you to go out there and compete and have that closer mentality.
