Cleveland 8, Tigers 0 : The rain delay was the best part

The Tigers didn’t show up to play at all, and their AL Central “rivals” had their way with them. The respite of a rain delay was the high point of this one as they fell 8-0.

One of the worst parts about another Ryan Carpenter start is having to describe it without disparaging a guy who by rights shouldn’t even be in this position. Carpenter allowed a walk in the first inning but came through unscathed despite some hard contact. In the second, things came predictably unglued as the Indians dropped a five spot on him punctuated by an Oscar Mercado home run.
