TORONTO — He walked out of the showers a few minutes shy of 7 p.m. as The Weeknd's song “Starboy” played inside the Detroit Tigers clubhouse, and, for a second, Christin Stewart was surprised that reporters wanted to speak with him.

A short while earlier, Stewart, the young power-hitting outfielder who more closely resembles a middle linebacker, had had his teammate, Miguel Cabrera, staring his way and mouthing, “Wow.”

No, Stewart does not have Cabrera’s hitting ability.
