Cabrera's HR gives Tigers rain-shortened win

Detroit — Miguel Cabrera’s unleashed one of his patented opposite-field laser shots in the bottom of the fifth inning Wednesday. It was his 36th homer of the season, it was a three-run shot that broke a 3-3 tie and, as soon as the Tigers finished the inning, the game was halted for a second time.

The small, rain-soaked crowd cheered the tarp coming on as loud as they did Cabrera’s homer.

It was the second stoppage of the night and most were thinking the game would be called and the Tigers would take the abbreviated 6-3 win over the Indians

That’s exactly what happened.
