After picking up reliever Andrew Chafin, and then starting pitcher Michael Pineda, GM Al Avila confirmed that the Detroit Tigers’ offseason was complete. The two big signings of Eduardo Rodriguez and Javy Báez led the way back in November, although their trade for catcher Tucker Barnhart was the first move of the offseason. Ultimately it wasn’t quite the huge offseason most hoped for, but it may have been the offseason the Tigers’ needed.
