SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Two winters ago, it was right-hander Michael Fulmer and second baseman Ian Kinsler.

Last winter, it was left-hander Matthew Boyd and right fielder Nicholas Castellanos.

This winter, the Detroit Tigers are nearly out of trade assets.

“Obviously, we’ve made a lot of trades,” general manager Al Avila said this week at the MLB Winter Meetings.
