Anibal Sanchez sharp again as Tigers top Mets for 4th straight win

Anibal Sanchez followed his best outing of the spring with his best start in Grapefruit League play.

The veteran right-hander tossed four scoreless innings and allowed just two hits against zero walks with five strikeouts as the Detroit Tigers beat the New York Mets 5-1 on Monday at Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland, Fla. Detroit (11-13-2) has now won four straight games for the first time this spring.

In his first three outings of the spring - two relief appearances and one start - Sanchez allowed 11 earned runs on 15 hits, including four home runs, in 5 2/3 innings as his ERA stood at 17.
