The veteran right-hander tossed four scoreless innings and allowed just two hits against zero walks with five strikeouts as the Detroit Tigers beat the New York Mets 5-1 on Monday at Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland, Fla. Detroit (11-13-2) has now won four straight games for the first time this spring.
In his first three outings of the spring - two relief appearances and one start - Sanchez allowed 11 earned runs on 15 hits, including four home runs, in 5 2/3 innings as his ERA stood at 17.
