An awful April put Leonys Martin's career on the brink in 2017. Can a hot start in 2018 revive it?

DETROIT -- Leonys Martin has twice watched grand slams stolen from him at the last instant.

These weren't merely nice catches, but balls that had actually sailed over the fence and then were pulled back in.

Mike Trout did in 2016. A year earlier, George Springer took away a 10th-inning walk-off slam.

"I've been robbed twice," Martin said matter-of-factly.

So it made sense to retrieve the ball he hit into the seats in the fifth inning Thursday afternoon. Grand slams don't come easy -- not at Comerica Park and not for Martin -- so he wanted the memento.
