The AL Central has long been maligned for being one of the worst divisions in baseball. That reputation has been deserved some years, like when the Detroit Tigers, Kansas City Royals, and Chicago White Sox all lost at least 98 games in 2018. In other seasons, the Central has been one of the more exciting to watch. Parity has been its hallmark, with each team winning the division at least once in the past 15 years, and four of the five having reached the World Series in that same span (sorry, Minnesota).
