Zetterberg ties it late, Wings fall in shootout

Detroit — The Red Wings and their fans got reintroduced to the shootout Friday.

All seven rounds of it, before the Vancouver Canucks finally defeated the Red Wings 4-3.

Vancouver won the shootout 2-1, with Linden Vey scoring the deciding the goal in the seventh round.

The Red Wings, for the first time in a while, were the team that capitalized on a late blown lead by the other team.

Henrik Zetterberg scored his sixth goal, shooting a puck from along the goal line, tying the game at 3-3 at 18:53 of the third period, somehow finding a spot high over goaltender Ryan Miller's right shoulder and forcing overtime.
